Privacy Policy — Tala
Tala sends no data off your device. There are no servers, no databases and no accounts operated by the developer. The developer has no access — and cannot gain access — to anything you do in the app.
1 · Who is responsible
The data controller is Marcela Salerni, trading as Ella Flow, Carabbia (Lugano), Switzerland.
For any question about this policy or the app: tala@ellaflow.ch
2 · Scope
This policy covers the Tala mobile app only, on iOS and Android. It does not cover the Ella Flow website or social media profiles, which use their own measurement tools and have separate policies.
3 · What data the app collects
None. Tala does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. Specifically, the app contains:
- no account, no sign-up, no request for your name or email
- no analytics or usage-measurement service
- no crash reporting
- no advertising and no advertising identifier
- no tracking, either within the app or across apps
- no server, no remote database, no sync
4 · What is stored on your phone
So that the app can work, some information is written to your device's local storage and stays there:
- your settings (durations, repetitions, sounds, volumes, theme, language)
- practices you save as favourites
- your practice log (label, date and time of completed sessions)
This never leaves your phone. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app, or — on Android — from Settings › Apps › Tala › Storage › Clear data.
5 · Permissions and system features
- Notifications. Used to deliver the bells while your screen is off. They are local notifications: your phone generates them, they never pass through any server, and no identifier is sent anywhere. You can revoke the permission in system settings and the app remains fully usable.
- Background audio playback. So that cues and background sound continue with the screen off during a session.
- Your own audio file. If you choose one of your own tracks as background sound, the file is read from your device purely to be played: it is never copied, uploaded or sent anywhere, and its name is not transmitted.
- Tala does not access your microphone, camera, location, address book, contacts, calendar, photos, health or fitness data.
6 · If you write to us
This is the only situation in which the developer processes data about you. If you email the address above, she receives your email address and the content of your message.
- Purpose: to answer you.
- Recipients: nobody, other than the email provider acting as a technical processor.
- Retention: as long as needed to handle the request, and in any case no longer than 24 months.
- Your rights: you can request access to, correction or deletion of the messages exchanged, and object to the processing, by writing to the same address.
No request is needed for data held inside the app: it is on your device and entirely under your control.
7 · The role of Apple and Google
Apple and Google collect their own data about downloads, purchases and system diagnostics under their own policies and outside the developer's control. This is not data collected by Tala.
Also, if you have enabled automatic phone backup, the app's local data may be included in the backup operated by Apple or Google under their terms.
8 · Children
Tala is not directed at children under 13 and, in any case, collects no data from anyone.
9 · Not a medical device
Tala is a tool for personal practice. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
10 · Purchases
The app is free and contains no in-app purchases.
11 · Changes to this policy
Any changes will be published on this page with a new update date. If a change is substantial, it will also be flagged inside the app.
12 · Governing law
This policy is drafted under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) as regards support contacts, and in accordance with the transparency requirements of the Apple App Store and Google Play as regards the app. Swiss law applies, with jurisdiction in Ticino, Switzerland. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country of residence, including the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your own domicile.
